Types of cardboard:
There mainly two types of wooden boxes; the first is known as the corrugated stock, and the other is a paperboard. The first one is used to make the shipping cartons, and it contains double and triple layers of the inner layers to make it thick and more durable for transportation. Whereas the second one is a single layer of grayish cardboard and lighter than the first one. This one can easily be torn and mainly used for the shoe boxes, cereal, and other packages.

Once all the material reaches the recycling centre, the time comes to sort them out according to their type like earlier explained corrugated and paper board. The paper board is small in size and non-coated because it is mostly used for food packaging. The other one is coated because they have to withstand external factors such as weather, dust, and sunlight. One the sorting is done, they are then baled. This is done with the help of heavy machinery to compress all the recycling materials into compact bales that are easy to handle.
As the paper is made out of the plant-based fibres. Thus all the recycling materials contain those fibres which are turned into the pulp in the process called pulping. They are soaked into the water with a chemical that accelerates the pulping process. This is then mixed with the fresh pulp that is basically the wood chips. This is added to improve the quality of the paper; otherwise, a low-quality paper can be made from the recycled materials only. It will look dull and will easily wear and tear so to avoid these problems, fresh material is also added to it.
Filter and de-inking:
Once the pulping is completed, the time comes to filter the mixture form any foreign objects. Glue and tape are removed using filters. If the pulp contains any color that can be removed by using the de-colourization chemicals.
The last stage:
This is the finishing stage that demands to give the pulp the required shape. All the excess water and moisture are removed from the pulp using the conveyor belt or table. The material is dried by passing it through a dryer-type machine, and then it is ready to be given a final shape. This ready material is called linerboard, and it is ready to be used to make fresh boxes and other products.
